Manchester United have mixed injury news for the clash against Arsenal as star duo Angel Di Maria and Robin van Persie will return to the squad, while England duo Luke Shaw and Wayne Rooney will miss the tie.
The Argentine international and the former Arsenal captain missed United’s trip to London where they defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park last weekend. Luke Shaw and Wayne Rooney picked up injuries in that clash.
Louis van Gaal has confirmed Di Maria and Van Persie are fit and the star duo could return to the tie against the North London club. In addition to this, the former Real Madrid star’s compatriot Marcos Rojo could be in action against Arsene Wenger’s side.
“Van Gaal tells #MUTV Di Maria & van Persie are fit to face Arsenal but Rooney & Shaw miss out. Rojo could play,” United tweeted.

The Red Devils’ clash against Arsenal will be their last fixture of the season at Old Trafford. The last league clash will be against Hull City away from home on May 24. The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager is hoping that his side could finish the season with a win in their final home game of this campaign.

“I want to thank the fans with a victory. We want to be third – it’s still possible. We can put pressure on Arsenal on Sunday,” Van Gaal explained.
“The thing that has pleased me most is the fans. We started the season poorly, but they’ve supported us. I want to thank them because they’ve been very important.”
