Luke Shaw played England’s latest international friendly victory over Scotland with a hamstring injury and has now made his position doubtful for Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Arsenal.
The Premier League football returns after two weeks of international break and Louis van Gaal will take his men to the Emirates for the crucial clash against the North London club.
England registered a 3-1 win over their neighbours away from home. Shaw, who was included in the squad for the Three Lions’ clash on Tuesday claims he has to wait and see if he will be fit for the weekend clash.
“We’ll have to wait and see whether I’ll be fit (for Arsneal clash),” Shaw told Sky Sports.
“I picked up a few knocks during the game but my left hamstring, which I did at the start of the season, I could feel a little bit as well.”
“We [me and manager Roy Hodgson] had a discussion at half time whether to bring me off but it was a game I didn’t want to come off in. I played the extra 15 minutes and obviously he [Hodgson] decided to sub me off.”
There has been injury concern for both Van Gaal and United and should he miss out, it would be massive blow for the 20-times English champions.
