Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva has done everything to show Real Madrid how much he loves the club. He expressed his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo and desire to play for the Los Blancos. His fellow Cruzeiro team-mates spoke highly of his talents and claimed that it is only a matter of time when he joins his dream club.
Real Madrid also want the player. They had bid twice and both time it were rejected. Cruzeiro want €15m, but Madrid are not willing to pay more than €12m.
Spanish newspaper AS reports today that the deal has hit a snag. Belo Horizonte team manager, Alexandre Mattos claims that the club have had four meetings with Madrid and spoke with the club 10 times about a possible deal, but it seems Madrid have cooled off their interest in the player or they do not want to sign in January.
“We had four meetings to discuss the future of Lucas Silva. I spoke with Real Madrid about ten times. They have no intention of hiring in winter, so we do not have urgency, “said Mattos to Radio Itatiaia .
Could this open door for Arsenal? Spanish press reported few days back that Arsenal are also in the running and they had offered €15m, the club’s asking price, for the midfielder. Lucas wants to join Madrid no doubt but Arsenal could make a swift inroad here by offering the Brazilian club and the player a lucrative deal.
