The summer transfer window may be over but the rumour mill is omnipresent. Despite domestic leagues and European competitions in full flow there are lot to speculate as we anticipate the ‘fast approaching’ January transfer window.

We bring you a roundup of all the latest transfer stories including Liverpool’s January move for a €29m Chelsea target. There is also good news for Arsenal as they have been encouraged in their pursuit of a Spanish striker.

Liverpool plan January move for Porto midfielder Ruben Neves:

According to Italian media outlet TMW, new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has identified Porto midfielder Ruben Neves as a potential January signing. The report states that the 18 year old has a €29m release clause and we had reported earlier that Chelsea have also earmarked the player in the upcoming winter transfer window.

There is some confusion regarding Neves’ release clause as some time ago the London Evening Standard reported that the figure to secure the Portuguese’s services is £29m. In fact we had stated that Chelsea had sent scouts earlier this season to watch the player in action.

Neves will be an excellent addition to either Chelsea or Liverpool but it represents a gamble to sign a youngster who is relatively inexperienced in the international circuit.

Arsenal are in the clear to sign Celta Vigo striker Nolito:

The Daily Mirror reports that Arsenal are favourites to sign Celta Vigo striker Nolito as Barcelona’s finances are likely to prevent them from making a bid for the Spanish striker. We had in fact cited Spanish media outlet Sport who stated that Barcelona have decided to end their pursuit of the player who reportedly has a €24m buyout clause.

Again there is a confusion on the figure as the report from Mirror states that Nolito has a €18m release clause. However the common aspect from both sources claims Arsenal are now the favourites to sign the striker, a position that they desperately need to strengthen in order to mount a significant Premier League title challenge this season. Arsenal scout Francis Cagigao rates the player highly as well.

Arsenal eyeing Ajax wonderkid:

Reports from the Daily Mirror suggest that Arsenal are planning a transfer move for Ajax wonderkid Riechedly Bazoer after monitoring the Holland U-21 international over the last month.

The report states that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has kept regular tabs on the midfielder by sending scouts to watch him in action. The 19 year old is regarded as one of the hottest young prospects in Holland and Arsenal could be tempted to make a move for the player in the near future.

The questions however remain. Will a player of this stature significantly improve Arsenal’s squad depth or is Wenger foregoing Arsenal’s this year’s title challenge to strengthen for the future?
