The transfer window is now closed. But, there’s no stopping of rumours in the press. We will therefore continue to update all the latest gossips and rumours. Today we have Liverpool showing interest in Colombian striker Luis Muriel.
The Reds had previously shown interest in the Colombian international and could make a move for him in the summer, irrespective of the fact whether Luis Suarez stays or not.
Suarez has signed a new contract that has a buy-out clause of £60-70m, and his future will mainly depend on whether Liverpool will finish with top four this season or not. So far, the Reds have consolidated their top four spot and even an outside contender for the Premier League title.
According to Goal.com, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to add to his forward options, irrespective of Suarez’ future and is weighing up a summer offer. Muriel was also targeted by Arsenal in the summer.
The 22-year-old has struggled to recapture his last season’s form and has scored just three times in 14 appearances for a side that is entrenched in mid-table in Serie A.
However, the Reds could face competition for Muriel who has attarcted interest from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg in the January transfer window while Italian champions are also understood to be monitoring the forward’s situation.
