According to a Russian news agency, Manchester United have entered talks to sign the highly rated Russian forward, Alexander Kokorin.
The player’s representative confirmed that the player is in talks with two Premier League clubs, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs and will leave Dynamo Moscow before the window shuts on August 31st.
“At the moment I’m working on a transfer for Kokorin. His services have interested Manchester United and Tottenham. There is every reason to believe that the player will be at one of those clubs by August 31.”
The 24 year old forward played for Russia during the Euro 2012 and World Cup 2014 and has attracted a lot of interest from European clubs over the years.
Kokorin started his football at Lokomotiv and then joined Dynamo, where he has spent the last 7 seasons.
Manchester United are thought to be keen on signing the Russian international after missing out on Pedro to Chelsea.
Spurs are keen to sign an alternative to Harry Kane this season and after unsuccessful talks with West Brom over Saido Berahino, Levy is keen to look at Kokorin.
The player will definitely be interested in moving to the Premier League, especially with such big clubs interested.
Although it is just ‘interest’ at this stage, it will be interesting to see if either club decide to make a formal bid for the player in the coming weeks.
There is no doubt that both clubs need a forward, perhaps someone who is comfortable playing the back up role and Kokorin fits the bill perfectly.
