Siena v Juventus
Serie A
Sunday 25 October 2009
Kick-off: 14:00 BST
Juventus will be hoping to recover from a run of average results and get back on track to challenge Inter Milan for the title this year when they travel to Siena this Sunday. It’s looking like a relatively easy game for Juve with Siena on the slide and increasingly looking like a relegation candidate this season.
Siena Preview
Siena are placed 19th in the league table and have given no indication through their performances of getting out of their slump any time soon.
Last week an early goal from Bojinov consigned Siena to a 0-1 defeat against Parma and Marco Giampaolo will have worked his team hard on the training ground to stamp out basic defensive errors. Siena don’t have Daniele Ficagna and Luca Rossettini available for this game and the hope is that if they can defend well against Juventus, they might get a point out of this game.
Juventus Preview
Juventus registered their first win in the Champions League this season by beating Maccabi Haifa on Wednesday. That victory ended a winless streat of five games, and will give Ciro Ferrara hope that Juventus can now get back on track in the Serie A as well.
Juventus trail Inter by 4 points in the league, having accumulated 15 points from 8 games. Juventus were unable to turn over Fiorentina last week as they were held to a 1-1 draw, but while that was difficult opposition, against Siena the fans and the manager will demand nothing less than three points.
Tiago, Alessandro Del Piero, Hasan Salihamidzic and Claudio Marchisio are all out injured for Juventus.
Siena v Juventus Prediction
Prediction: Siena 0-2 Juventus
