Arsenal could finally pursue their aim to secure the services of Juventus striker Sebastian Giovinco after reports from Italian sources claimed that the 27 year old might be headed for a summer exit from Turin. The original story from Tuttosport has alse been relayed by TMW.

giovincoThe Italian known as the ‘Atomic Ant’ and likened to Alessandro Del Piero has failed to muster a starting eleven spot for Antonio Conte’s side featuring in just 28 appearances, majority of which came from the bench. Football Italia.net have confirmed that the player is set to hold talks over his future with the club in the summer.

Arsenal had earlier enquired about Giovinco in the January Transfer window but met with a negative response as the Bianconeri did not want to part ways with the player in mid season. Arsene Wenger is certainly on the lookout for a striker this summer and given Giovinco’s desire to have more game time on the pitch might augur well for both the player and the Gunners. The diminutive attacker would ceaselessly fit into Arsenal’s system and his ability to get past defenders at will certainly give Arsenal a different attacking edge over other teams next season.

Giovinco’s agent Claudio Pasqualin admitted that Giovinco may look to quit Juventus in order to find regular first team football. The Express have quoted the agent as saying, “Sebastian still has one more year on his contract. We’re just going to have to wait and see what happens.” The credibility of the source is however, yet to be verified.

Liverpool and Tottenham are also interested in the player while Monaco and Olympiacos are also keeping tabs on the situation.
