According to the Daily Mirror, Samuel Eto’o wants a move to Arsenal this summer, with the Cameroonian instructing his representatives to make the Gunners aware of his availability as a free agent.
The 33-year-old had to win over the vast majority of Chelsea fans when he arrived at Stamford Bridge last season due to his many unsavoury comments about the club when he was playing for European rivals Barcelona; and it looks like Eto’o may have to do it all over again if he moves across London to Arsenal, but for different reasons.
Some Arsenal fans are not convinced that he would bring much to Arsene Wenger’s squad, and are less impressed with his wage demands.
But there are some that see the merit in signing an experienced hitman such as Eto’o, with the Gunners certainly in need of serious attacking reinforcement this summer.
Check out what some of the Arsenal fans had to say on Twitter about the potential Eto’o transfer:
But I don’t even want Eto’o at Arsenal, some any joke man

I would take Eto’o as a 3rd choice but there’s no way we’ll match his wages

I would take Eto’o on a free in a heartbeat.

Samuel Eto’o to arsenal #hopefully

Samuel Eto’o? Not interested. Unless we bought someone else solid and he wouldn’t mind a but part, off the bench role. Then maybe.

I think arsenal could do a lot worse than sign Eto’o

Can’t imagine Eto’o doing much if he ends up at Arsenal anyway. I’d definitely start Giroud over him. #AFC #CFC

Had a feeling we would be linked with Eto’o this summer. I would take him but just not for the wages he would ask for. #afc

Eto’o on a free isn’t bad though, wouldn’t complain getting him for free as a backup
