Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has always maintained that the Gunners should not sign any striker for the sake of it.
The Frenchman believes he is more than capable of leading the line, but general consensus among the Arsenal fans is that, a world class striker is required before the transfer window closes.
Speaking to BeINSports (relayed by GFFN) Giroud said Arsenal have a bunch of quality players and there’s no need to sign any player, for the sake of buying. However, it would have been good to have Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema in the side.
Olivier Giroud: “From Welbeck, to Sanchez to rumours about Suarez. That is normal at an ambitious club.”

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema this summer. Spanish newspaper AS claimed earlier this month that the Gunners are willing to pay €65m to sign the Real Madrid striker.
Benzema’s agent has always maintained that his client is happy at Madrid, and certainly not angling for a move. The player himself has recently quashed all transfer rumours surrounding him, by claiming on social networking site Twitter, that he is not going anywhere in the summer.
