Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker believes that Angel Di Maria would only recapture his old form if he moves elsewhere.
The British record signing has cut a frustrating figure at the club, with many suggesting that Louis van Gaal’s system is failing to get the best out of him.
“The only way it is going to work out for Di Maria, the only way he is going to get back to being the player he was before, is to move on,” Parker told Eurosport, via The Express.
“The way things are going at Manchester United, he is not going to progress as a player because the team are playing horribly and you can’t see how that situation is going to change.
“PSG would suit him nicely, as would going back to Real Madrid.
“In England, Arsenal are the best fit for the way they shift the ball around quickly in midfield, but even Chelsea would be a better home for him than United as they are a bit more expressive now, while United have gone from being one of the most flamboyant teams in the Premier League to being in the bottom half of the table for excitement.”
Well, Di Maria might be struggling at Manchester United at the moment that gives media the opportunity to make a big meal out of it that he would leave the club/or the club willing to sell him.
The chances of him leaving the club next season is very slim or nil. He is a big money signing and the club would do everything they can to get the best out of him. The suggestions of him moving abroad or playing for other Premier League rival clubs are premature.
What Parker had meant to say is Di Maria would have flourished in a different system like at Chelsea and Arsenal. Basically he is criticising Louis van Gaal in an indirect way.
