It also represents another opportunity for Lionel Messi to earn glory for his nation, having lost out to Germany in the World Cup finals.
Chile vs Mexico: June 15
Chile and Mexico played some delightful football in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, but both suffered heart-breaking exits in the round of 16. Mauricio Pinilla’s thundering shot nearly sent Jorge Sampaoli’s men through against Brazil, while how Arjen Robben inspired Holland broke Mexican resilience is still fresh in our memory.
Chile will enjoy the home advantage but Mexico have their own aces up their sleeves. Carlos Vela was quick to stamp his mark after ending his international exile recently, by netting twice against Holland.
