Spanish press today have a report on Andre Gomes transfer saga. The report claim Chelsea have sent scouts to watch him frequently this season.
Chelsea are closely following Benfica midfielder Andre Gomes, who has joined La Liga giants Valencia on a season long loan.
Andre Gomes, was heavily linked with Premier League with Liverpool in summer, but the Benfica midfielder chose to join Valencia instead on a season long loan.
Valencia based newspaper Superdeporte claim that along with Barcelona, Premier League giants Chelsea are seemingly interested in him.
Gomes, the 21-year-old stylish midfielder joined the Los Che on a loan, but Valencia will make his transfer permanent by the end of the year. He will be offered a four year fresh deal by Peter Lim and Jorge Mendes, the player’s agent wants his release clause to bump up to around €50m.
Superdeporte claim that Chelsea and Manchester United are the two clubs who have frequently visited Mestalla this season. While the Red Devils have shown an interest in Nicolas Otamendi, Chelsea have been tracking the progress of Gomes.
Barcelona are also thought to be interested in the stylish central midfielder. Mendes recently met Joan Laporta, where they discussed about Gomes and whether he can be a part of any future plans for the Catalan club.
Liverpool haven’t been linked yet with Gomes for the past few months, which means, the interest for the Portuguese has gone down. Could this be an opportunity for Chelsea to step up and sign the talented youngster?
