Three days, 17 hours remaining in the transfer window at the time of writing. Let’s enjoy the final three days of the summer transfer window.
Chelsea are putting up final touches to sanction a loan deal for Fernando Torres. The Spaniard’s representatives are in London where they are expected to thrash out a settlement on the striker’s wages.
The Times reporting that Milan are willing to sign him on a two year deal, paying a part of his salary, but Torres is not keen for a permanent move. Antonio Sanz, Torres’s agent, said: “A move to AC Milan is a real possibility, the meeting went well.”
Torres’ departure could see Chelsea making a late move for Mattia Destro, who is also a reported target of Arsenal. The 23-year-old striker has a market value of £20m, but Roma are not willing to sell, unless they can find a replacement with four days left of the transfer window.
Chelsea are also willing to offload Dutch midfielder Marko van Ginkel, who rejected a loan move to Milan. However, Petr Cech, whose future has been well speculated recently, is expected to stay and compete with Thibaut Courtois.
