Chelsea have announced they have submitted a complaint to UEFA following what they describe as ‘poor organisation’ following their trip to Barcelona in this season’s champions league.

The Blues lost 3-0 in the 2nd Leg of their last-16 tie at the Camp Nou and were subsequently eliminated from the competition 4-1 on aggregate.

The West-London club have compiled a report of supporters first-hand experiences, and will now await a response from UEFA.

A statement on the club’s official website cited lack of crowd control, brutality on the part of stewards and police and exposure to unsafe conditions.

Footage emerged shortly after the match last month that shows an unsavoury incident. The footage doesn’t show who instigated the situation. But it’s clear to see why Chelsea would feel they have cause for complaint.

Reaction has been mixed with many believing Chelsea have taken the correct course of action. That hasn’t stopped some fans claiming it’s a bit rich of Chelsea to complain with reference to incidents involving Blues fans over the years.
