After serving Chelsea for 11 seasons, it now appears that Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech is set to leave the club in the coming summer transfer window. Yesterday we had reported that the 32 year old had dropped hints that he could be looking to move by claiming, “There always will be speculation, I leave it for the summer.”
Cech would consider his options on where he would move next, “It will be important to sit down with the club, with the manager, to consider all the pros and cons. We will see what will work out the best.”
The Daily Mirror have reported last night that Chelsea will demand £10m for the player from potential suitors. Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Cech and the Gunners need a world class goal keeper in the summer. Real Madrid and Paris St Germain are also keeping tabs on the player’s situation.
Arsenal have David Ospina and Wojciech Sczczesny in their squad but there is no doubt that Cech will be a massive upgrade on both as he has massive experience in the Premier League. Liverpool too were interested bit Simon Mignolet’s fine form over the past couple of months have seen those rumours cool down.
So will Cech move to Arsenal in the summer? And would Chelsea sell a player with such pedigree to one of their domestic rivals?
