The summer transfer window may be over but the rumour mill is omnipresent. Despite domestic leagues and European competitions in full flow there are lot to speculate if we are to anticipate the ‘fast approaching’ January transfer market.
We bring you a roundup of all the latest transfer stories including how Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal called a player’s mother to seal a summer transfer. An Arsenal target has also revealed he is fed up at his current club while a Chelsea midfielder is set for exit in January.
Louis Van Gaal called Anthony Martial’s mother to seal deadline day transfer:
As per reports from RMC Sport in France, Anthony Martial has revealed that Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal called his mother and soon after his summer deadline day move to Old Trafford was confirmed.
The 19 year old has revealed, “Van Gaal called me and spoke to my mother. When I arrived in Manchester I met [him], we discussed at length [the transfer] and it was done quickly.” United paid £36m to Monaco for Martial’s services but the fee could rise to £58m with bonuses.
Yesterday we had reported that Martial had rejected a move to Chelsea to make his dream move to United. The teenager has so far lived up to his billing having four goals in six games since his stunning debut against arch rivals Liverpool.
Karim Benzema is ‘fed-up’ at Real Madrid:
Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has revealed that he is fed up at Real Madrid after being substituted by manager Rafa Benitez during the 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid on Sunday. Real were leading 1-0 but an error from Alvaro Arbeloa gave the Rojiblancos to tie the game with just 7 minutes remaining.
Media outlets will certainly claim that Benzema’s comments will be a huge boost for Arsenal who have linked with the French striker throughout the summer. Pay no heed to those rumours as facts have been clearly blown out of proportions.
Benzema was quoted saying by the Independent who cited Spanish outlet AS as, “Substitutions are what the coach decides, I’m just there to help my team-mates. It’s true I’m fed up of being taken off. I’m calm and will continue to work so I’m not always substituted. He took me off to get a result, for defensive reasons.”
Juan Cuadrado to join Juventus on permanent basis:
We had reported last week that Juventus are set to offer €20m plus bonuses of €2-3m to Chelsea for Juan Cuadrado’s permanent services in the upcoming January transfer window.
Cuadrado who joined Chelsea in a £27m deal in January earlier this year failed to live up to the expectations at Stamford Bridge due to his limited chances and now with the arrival of Pedro, Cuadrado’s future in London looks bleak.
However, since joining the Old Lady on a loan deal, the Colombian has been in stunning form. The Bianconeri are expected to hold talks with Chelsea and want to close the deal in the winter transfer window.
And finally, Bayern Munich are considering a move for Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi in the near future as per reports from Talksport. Manchester United had been linked with the Valencia defender who reportedly has a £37m buyout clause in his current contract (as per Daily Express).
