Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insisted that he may need a striker in the January transfer window, but hasn’t found the right player yet.

Wenger fears that getting their first choice targets would be difficult in January and the Frenchman therefore is looking for loan moves only.

According to Italian media, Arsenal have held talks with the player’s agent and further discussions could take place in coming days. The Gunners are keen to land the 30-year-old on loan, but Juventus are willing to sell him permanently and are demanding a fee in the region of €10-12m.

Vucinic has dropped down the pecking orders at the club behind Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente and has made only four league appearances this season. Although Wenger admitted that he is not interested in the striker, but a loan move for him would be ideal, despite the fact that supporting strikers Nicklas Bendtner and Yaya Sanogo would resume full training shortly.

Now, Tuttosport reports that Chelsea have also joined the race for his signature. The Blues will miss the services of Fernando Torres, who got injured while playing against Manchester United, so Jose Mourinho might be interested to find a cover for the Spaniard for the rest of the season.

Vucinic will be more than eager to jump the ship, but the question is will Juventus allow the player to go out on loan?
