Chelsea are looking to sign the Real Madrid winger James Rodriguez next summer.

According to Spanish publication Don Balon, the Colombian playmaker is thought to be frustrated with life under new manager Rafael Benitez and is angling for a move away from Santiago Bernabeu.

Since his arrival from Monaco, James has been a key member of Real Madrid’s squad and has proven to be an incredible replacement for Angel Di Maria.

The Colombian has not only chipped in numerous important assists, he has scored a considerable number of goals as well.

The former Porto attacking midfielder is one of the most complete players in the world football right now and could walk into any side in Europe.

Chelsea’s interest in the Colombian is no surprise. The Premier League champions are in desperate need of another creative outlet, especially someone who can play in a number of positions and can score goals consistently.

The Real Madrid star would be an incredible addition to any Premier League side and it will be interesting to see if the Blues can convince the Spanish giants to part with their prized asset in the summer.

Furthermore, the player shares his agent with Jose Mourinho and the Portuguese’ close relation with Jorge Mendes could be a major boost for Chelsea when they decide to move for his client in the summer.

James Rodriguez contributed to 44 goals in 51 games last season (24 goals and 20 assists) and was one of the best players in the World Cup as well.
