The summer transfer window may be over but the rumour mill is omnipresent. Despite domestic leagues and European competitions in full flow there are lot to speculate if we are to anticipate the ‘fast approaching’ January transfer market.
We bring you a roundup of all the latest transfer stories including Chelsea’s big money January plans for a well known Porto midfielder while Manchester United eye a Bundesliga sensation. Moreover, will a Barcelona superstar move to Real Madrid?
Chelsea plotting move for Porto midfielder Yacine Brahimi:
Italian media outlet TMW have reported that Chelsea are plotting a January move for Porto midfielder Yacine Brahimi. It is believed that Jose Mourinho is desperate to strengthen his squad after a disastrous Premier League start to the season.
The report states that the London side are monitoring the Algerian playmaker with increasing intensity. Chelsea travel to Portugal to take on Porto in the Champions League in midweek but Brahmini is a doubt for the game due to injury. The player however has a €60m buy out clause in his contract but as we have seen in the past, no price tag is enough to deter Chelsea away from capturing their intended targets.
Manchester United eye Bayer Leverkusen’s Hakan Calhanoglu:
Netherlands Media outlet Soccer News claim that Bayer Leverkusen turned down Manchester United’s €40m offer for Turkish midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu in August. While the credibility of the source is yet to be known, they state that Italian giants AC Milan are also interested in the player.
Whether United will move for the player in the upcoming January transfer window is not mentioned and adding to that the Red Devils do have enough creative talent in their squad. Milan on the other hand desperately need a player who pull the strings in midfield as they believe that Keisuke Honda, Giacomo Bonaventura and Suso aren’t simply good enough.
Arsenal target Ezequiel Lavezzi could leave PSG for ‘big’ offer:
This is according to the Daily Express who claim that Lavezzi could leave PSG in January is he receives a big offer from any club. Liverpool and Arsenal have been interested in the Argentine over the past few months and it is believed that Angel Di Maria’s arrival could see the player head towards the exit from Parc De Princes in search of more game time. Valencia and Inter Milan are also interested in the 30 year old.
Neymar’s agent advises him to finish club career at Real Madrid:
Agents, well they are eccentric, but one thing is common between them. They always work to get the best deal for the clients and also love the rub of the green notes. Thus it’s no surprise that Neymar’s agent has strangely advised him to finish his career at Real Madrid.
There is more than one way to look at it. One, considering Barcelona players Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano are under investigation for evading taxes, the Brazilian’s current issues could lead him into trouble as well in the near future. And two, that Real Madrid have offered him good money if he can convince his client to swap clubs.
Neymar’s agent Wagner Ribeiro wrote on Instagram, “Take your money, send everything to tax havens, legally, of course. This way you will stop paying taxes in Brazil! Close your businesses, the Institute of Praia Grande, and go enjoy your life on Mediterranean beaches. You and your family. But leave Neymar to play a few more years … and end his career in Europe, preferably at Real Madrid.”
Wagner do you remember a certain Luis Figo?
