Arsenal have seemingly missed out on a potential summer target, with news coming in today that Borussia Dortmund have sealed an €8m agreement to sign Freiburg’s Matthias Ginter.
According to German newspaper ‘Bild’, Dortmund have stolen ahead of the Gunners for the 20-year-old, who was also a reported target for Manchester United.
Last month, we brought you the news that the Gunners were leading the chase for the German, and sent chief scout Steve Rowley to watch the young centre-back in action, while United were strongly linked to Ginter after David Moyes himself watched the player.

Ginter is one of the brightest prospects in the Bundesliga and has all the attributes to become a high-class player. The young defender has good pace and often likes to switch the play with long balls from the back, but will seemingly not be heading to the Premier League this summer, with Dortmund moving quickly to secure the talent.

Arsenal are set for a summer revamp, and will have to look for a replacement for potential mover Thomas Vermaelen, who has been strongly linked with a move away throughout the campaign.
Today we mentioned that Sevilla defender Federico Fazio was on Arsenal’s radar, while the Gunners will be looking to bring in a host of attacking options, with the likes of Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner all potentially heading for the exit.
