Marco Reus is one player whose future is going to come under intense speculations in 2015. The Borussia Dortmund star has been linked with a host of European giants and could be set to leave Westfalenstadion in the coming months. Spanish Media outlet MARCA have reported yesterday night that Real Madrid are in pole position to sign the 25 year old attacking midfielder.
With the Court of Arbitration for Sport upholding Barcelona’s transfer ban, the Galacticos are very much in the driver’s seat for the player. The report claims that Reus who has been linked with Barcelona will not wait till the Camp Nou side are free to sign players and is very much determined to leave Dortmund at the end of the season.
Madrid thus would see the CAS’s decision as a potential victory as it would rule out Barcelona to sign Reus. In fact Chelsea and Manchester United have been very much linked with Reus who reportedly has a €25m release clause that is set to kick in next summer. Bayern Munich are also desperate to sign the German but it appears unlikely that Dortmund would sell their prized asset to their fierce rivals.
MARCA also claims that Real have the trump card to sign Reus which is in the shape of a ‘verbal agreement’ between Real President Florentino Perez and Dortmund president Reinhard Rauball. Madrid would thus have the ‘first dibs’ and match any offer that comes in for Reus in the future.
