Gareth Bale, Wales international and Southampton star left back, has hit back at rumours that he would favor a move to Tottenham.
Bale is now on record as saying that he “won’t learn anything at Tottenham” and he was better off at playing for Southampton in the Championship than for Tottenham.
Bale:
“I don’t know why these rumours keep coming up.
Yes, I want to play in the Premiership but my first responsibility is to help Southampton get promotion. After that, we’ll see what happens in the summer.
If Southampton get promoted, it will take a very good offer to get me away from the Saints.
No, I don’t think Tottenham can afford me. Plus, what will I learn there? They don’t have world-class players, and they definitely don’t have experienced players either.
In the Wales squad you have someone like Giggs from whom you can learn so much from.
Who do Tottenham have?
I won’t learn anything at Tottenham.
I’d rather play with Southampton in the Championship next season then at Tottenham.”
On Soccerlens:
“Why do you keep pimping Sunderland and England? You should cover some Wales news man.
And more about Southampton. Do you want a tour?”
Unfortunately I don’t much about Southampton or Wales mate – but if you come to the Premiership I might take you up on that offer.
