According to Daily Mail, Atletico Madrid striker Mario Madzukic has been offered to Manchester United.
The Croatian has been linked with moves away from the Calderon this summer and could head to the Premier League. Mandzukic has been linked with United and Arsenal and will make way for the likes of Vietto and Tevez.
Earlier today, Diego Simeone confirmed that the club are close to tying up a deal for Luciano Vietto and also revealed that signing Tevez would be ideal for the club.
The former Bayern Munich forward has failed to make the expected impact in La Liga and was outperformed by Frenchman Griezmann, whose transition from an attacking midfielder to a striker has been outstanding.
It is believed that Simeone is keen to put together a goalscoring trio of Griezmann, Vietto and Tevez and will cash in on Mandzukic, before the Croatian’ stick plummets.
The English media seem to believe that Mandzukic has been offered to Manchester United, who are desperate to sign a new striker.
With Falcao gone and Van Persie edging towards an exit, Van Gaal wants a reliable goalscorer. Mandzukic has had a fantastic career with Bayern and in the international level and is still highly rated in world football.
The Croatian would be keen on a move in order to rejuvenate his career.
United have been linked with the likes of Benzema, but Real Madrid have already rebuffed an enquiry. In such circumstances, Mandzukic could be an ideal short term alternative to Wayne Rooney who looks set to lead the line next season.
