Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom has joined Nottingham Forest on loan until the end of the season, the club has confirmed.
We reported on Tuesday that at least seven Championship clubs are looking to sign the youngster before today’s loan deadline day.
Norwich City and Nottingham Forest were leading the race to sign him while Bournemouth, Ipswich Town, Derby County, Wigan Athletic and Fulham had all registered their interest in the striker.
The 19-year-old forward has made seven substitute appearances for Arsenal this season, and impressed everyone with his performances in cup games.
The striker has signed a new long term contract with Arsenal in February and has been an integral part of the youth set up ever since. Moving out on loan to Championship side will not only give him exposure but will give him game time, much needed for his development.
In other news, Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has revealed on Twitter that contrary to what has been said, there has not been any contract discussions between him and the club.
