Lorenzo Insigne has been in tremendous form this season for Napoli. As a result, he is drawing interest from several heavyweight European clubs, including the likes of Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.
Insigne’s agent, Antonio Ottaiano, has revealed that both Arsenal and PSG have shown an interest in the Italy international but the 24-year-old wants to continue with Napoli for now as the Partenopei chase their first Serie A title since 1990.
Ottaiano told Naples-based Radio Kiss Kiss, via ESPN: “PSG and Arsenal are clubs at the top of the world and their interest is certainly gratifying, but right now Lorenzo is only thinking about Napoli.
“A great season is also key to reaching his other aim for this year: securing a place for the next European Championship with Italy.”
Napoli, currently third in the table, are just one point behind leaders Inter Milan. Insigne, the local lad, is enjoying his best season with his hometown club, forming a solid partnership with Argentine striker Gonzalo Higauin.
Insigne, with seven goals and five assists to his name, is a versatile playmaker, who can play on both wings or through the middle. He is fast, skilful, technically gifted, and has an eye for goal and killer passes.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has promised to remain busy in the January transfer market, as the Gunners looking to bolster their squad that can mount a successful title challenge. The Gunners end the year by topping the league table, and are looking to win their first Premier League title since 2004.
Insigne would be a great addition to the Arsenal squad, but Napoli are highly unlikely to sell him at this moment.
