With all the domestic campaigns done and dusted, it is time for every club to focus on the transfer market and improve their chances of doing well next season.

Although the transfer window officially opens on the 1st of July, almost every club has started working on their deals and new signings are being confirmed every day. Here at Soccerlens, in our daily transfer news roundup column, we will bring you the latest stories from over the last 24 hours.

Manchester United target Miralem Pjanic from Roma

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is looking to strengthen his midfield this summer and Roma star Miralem Pjanic is a target.

The Roma midfielder has been linked with a move to several clubs including Chelsea and Barcelona.

The 26 year old is one of the best central midfielders in Europe right now and would be a massive upgrade on the likes of Fellaini. With Carrick and Schweinsteiger regressing, he could be the spine of Manchester United’s midfield alongside Schneiderlin and Herrera.

Pjanic is thought to be a target for the new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte as well.

Arsenal trigger Jamie Vardy’s release clause

According to recent reports, Arsenal have agreed to meet the release clause of England striker Jamie Vardy.

The 29 year old had a remarkable season last year and helped Leicester to the Premier League title. It appears that Arsenal are now willing to add to their striking options and Vardy is a preferred option for Wenger.

Arsenal’s offer for the England international is thought to be in the region of £20m and has triggered the release clause in his contract. The clause is only applicable if a Champions league club comes in with an offer.

Vardy scored 24 goals in the Premier League for Leicester last season and is currently preparing for Euro 2016. He joined the Foxes for £1m from Fleetwood in 2012.

Manchester City want Jack Wilshere

Premier league giants are prepared to make a move for the Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

According to latest reports, Guardiola wants more English midfielders in his squad and the 24 year old Arsenal star is of interest. Wilshere has spent a major part of his career so far on the sidelines with recurring injuries and it will be interesting to see if that affects Arsenal’s decision to keep him or sell him.

Wilshere has 2 years remaining in his current contract and Arsenal will have to make a decision soon.

Manchester United want Lionel Messi

According to Daily Mail, Manchester United have made two approaches to sign the Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi over the last three weeks.

The Argentine star is thought to be frustrated with the legal issues regarding tax evasion and Manchester United are looking to take advantage of the situation.

The report claims that Manchester United are well aware of the fact that they cannot sign Messi without Champions League football and have therefore registered their interest to find out if he will entertain a move to Old Trafford in future.

If Messi decides to switch clubs, there will be a host of suitors lining up for him including Manchester City, PSG and Bayern Munich. The Argentine is also likely to cost a world record fee.
