Arsenal’s needs for a central defensive midfielder in the upcoming January transfer window is well documented. Both Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini are way past their best and oppositions time and again exploit the Gunners’ backline. We had reported in October that that the North London side have set their eyes on Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Marcelo Brozovic. The Gunners met the player’s agent in London and had offered €8m for his services.

However reports from Croatian Media outlet Vecernji claim that the offer was rejected but Dinamo would be helpless if a better offer is tabled in the upcoming January Transfer window. Arsenal would be also able to sign Brozzvic should they make a €10m offer to the club.

The report also states that Brozović would easily get a work permit in England but a host of other clubs are also interested in the player including Borussia Dortmund, Fiorentina and Inter Milan. It would be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they sign Brozovic as entirely sure whether Sami Khedira will leave Real Madrid and in the near future. There would also be enormous competition from other clubs in the transfer market for the German.

Brozovic has impressed playing for Zagreb and was REWARDED with a place in the national team in the World Cup in Brazil. He played in the final 26 minutes during the the tournament’s current raiser in which Croatia lost 3-1 to Brazil.
