According to the trusted and reliable Gianluca Di Marzio website, Arsenal are reportedly edging closer to sign Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Marcelo Brozovic. The report claims that the Gunners have already met the player’s agent in London yesterday and have reportedly offered €8m to complete the signing of the 21 year old.
Arsene Wenger’s move for Brozovic is understandable. The North London side are in need of an anchor man who can screen the back four. With Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini way past their best, moving for Brozovic is a clever ploy.
Moreover, Arsenal aren’t entirely sure whether they would be able to land Sami Khedira in January or next summer thanks to enormous competition from other clubs in the transfer market.
Brozovic has impressed playing for Zagreb and was rewarded with a place in the national team in the World Cup in Brazil. He played in the final 26 minutes during the the tournament’s current raiser in which Croatia lost 3-1 to Brazil. Certainly a long term option, but can Arsenal snatch the player from other potential suitors like Italian Giants Inter Milan?
