With the north London club confirmed the injury to be minor, it is believed that the former Real Madrid midfielder is not expected to spend a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Following their clash against Newcastle, there will be an international break and Wenger will expect Ozil to return to the first team.
Meanwhile, central defender Laurent Koscielny, who was doubtful for the clash against the Tyneside club has overcome a mild back injury to start for his side. He will partner with Gabriel Paulista in the heart of the back four.
England international Theo Walcott gets the nod ahead of Olivier Giroud as the former Southampton man will lead Arsenal’s attacking division against Newcastle. The French striker is on the bench.
