Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli has been linked with a move away from the Italian club this summer.
Gazzetta dello Sport (translated by Sport Witness) are reporting that the Serie A outfit have received offers from Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund for the 23-year-old.
Locatelli has been outstanding in the European Championships with Italy, scoring twice in the competition to date.
Juventus are also keen on signing the midfielder, but Locatelli would be open to a move abroad. He is reportedly valued at €40 million.
The Gunners need a quality midfielder alongside Thomas Partey next season, and Locatelli could prove to be a sensational long-term addition to Mikel Arteta’s side.
Swiss international Granit Xhaka is closing in on a move to Roma this summer, and the Italian international could be his ideal replacement.
A move to Arsenal would be a massive step up for the Sassuolo star, and he is likely to be tempted to join the London club.
However, Juventus could be a more attractive proposition for Locatelli and the Premier League club may find it difficult to defeat them in the race to sign him.
Locatelli would undoubtedly add calmness and composure to Arsenal’s midfield. He is also very disciplined in possession and would help shield the back four.
