Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey could miss the North London derby on Sunday, with the Welshman still struggling for match fitness, reports The Guardian.
Ramsey returned to full training last week and was expected to make a return against Tottenham, which is the first of a difficult sequence of fixtures that could define Arsenal’s season.
The Welshman was one of the star performers for the Gunners in the first half of the season but has not played since Boxing Day, when he damaged his thigh at West Ham.
Arsenal will definitely be without record signing Mesut Ozil, who will miss out with a hamstring injury. The German international was forced off at half-time against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, and Wenger said the injury looked quite serious which would leave Ozil for at least a few weeks.
It is understood that Ozil will miss the league games against Tottenham, Chelsea, Swansea City and Manchester City and, most probably, Everton on 6th April.
Left-back Kieran Gibbs, who missed the Champions League tie in the midweek, is also doubtful for the Spurs match, but Wenger expects to have Nacho Monreal back after a foot problem.
January loan signing Kim Kallstrom, who hasn’t yet featured for the club due to a back injury, should be vying to make his Arsenal debut this weekend.
