Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez is doubtful for the weekend Premier League clash against Aston Villa with a hamstring injury, reports Sky Sports.
The Chilean international has quickly adapted to English football after making a switch to the Emirates from Barcelona last summer. He has already scored 12 goals and managed seven assists in 21 league appearances.
The Gunners manager Arsene Wenger revealed that Sanchez is uncertain for the weekend clash against Villa at the Emirates.
“The squad will be exactly the same as last Sunday. The only uncertainty we have is Alexis Sanchez who has a hamstring concern, and that will be decided on Saturday,” Wenger told Arsenal’s official website.
“He might be out for Sunday. The only [other] difference is that Gabriel is available and we’ll check him how he is physically but he should be alright to be available.”
Danny Welbeck has been out on the sidelines for a while as the former Manchester United striker has missed several key fixtures.
The Frenchman admitted that the England international will available for the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on February 7 at White Hart Lane.
“Welbeck is very close. He is really, really, really nearly there. He will be available for the Tottenham game,” Arsenal manager said.
When asked about Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wenger said, “They are not completely there yet but they are not far. Jack should join in normal training in 10 days. Welbeck on Monday. That’s where we are at the moment. Arteta a bit longer.”
