Arsenal are preparing a new mega deal for German international Mesut Ozil to keep him at the club for a long period of time.
The German forward has two years to run to his contract, but per The Mirror, Arsenal board feel it’s high time to tie him up at the club until at least 2019.
Ozil joined Arsenal from Real Madrid for a reported fee of £42m in August 2013. And after early struggles in English soil, the German winger is now showing class and consistency that everyone expected he would bring to Arsenal.
The 27-year-old has been in phenomenal form this season, having managed 10 assists to his name already. Furthermore, he has scored three goals for the Gunners this season in all competitions.
Recently, the Bayern Munich skipper, Philipp Lahm has paid the ultimate compliment to the world-class Mesut Ozil by saying the Arsenal winger is probably the “most intelligent player in Europe” at this moment.
Arsenal wingers Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla have signed new contracts this season, and it seems Mesut Ozil could pen a new deal at the Emirates.
The Gunners are also keen to hand a lucrative contract to the Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez. According to reports, talks are expected to start regarding his contract before Christmas, where the Chilean will be offered a five year contract at £130,000-per-week wage package.
Arsenal are flying high in the Premier League this season, as they sit joint-top in the league with same points as Manchester City, and are only separated by the goal difference.
