Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has revealed that he wants to move to the Bundesliga in the summer. The Danish forward has featured only 11 times for the Gunners this season and looks to be on his way out of London with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
Bendtner joined Arsenal in 2005 but failed to make a mark at the Emirates. It is believed that Arsene Wenger is willing to let the forward go, with unsuccessful loan spells with Sunderland and Juventus in the past enough for Wenger to want to ditch him permanently.
Speaking to streetboys.dk (relayed by ELF Voetbal), the 26-year-old said:
“I like Italy a lot, but the German league also looks exciting. Bayern are strongly in command, but they can be challenged. I do not have a particular preference, because all I want is a place where I get regular match practice and can be happy.”
Bendtner is currently in Copenhagen, according to Denmark’s national daily Berlingske, and there are reports that FC Copenhagen could make a move for Bendtner in the summer.
However, manager Stale Solbakken played down such claims saying that despite having an improved transfer budget at his disposal, Bendtner is not within the reach of the capital club.
