Arsenal and Manchester United are targeting Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio in the January transfer window.
According to reports from Metro, who are citing Italian newspaper Il Sussidiario as the source, both the Premier League heavy weights are looking to bolster the squad in winter and have earmarked the 27-year-old to make difference for them in the second half of the season.
The midfielder has spent his entire career with Juventus, apart from a brief loan spell away at Empoli early in his career but with Paul Pogba rising to prominence, coupled with his own gradual dipping in form; his future with the Old Lady seems uncertain, therefore he could make a move abroad, as speculated by Metro.
The midfielder, as per the transfermarkt would cost around €31m but could be available within £20m range. While a central midfielder is a priority for Manchester United, it is highly unlikely that Arsenal would be interested in him at the moment.
Obviously, a player of his caliber would bolster any team in Europe, but the Gunners’ main priority lies in landing a top striker in January.
