The 22 year old has had a superb season so far for Lyon, scoring 17 goals and grabbing 4 assists from 39 appearances.
With the Reds already in the Champions League next season, Brendan Rodgers is believed to want to bring in a quality striker to Anfield to take the pressure off Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge up front.
Should the Northern Irishman land Lacazette, it would be surely the end of Iago Aspas’ short stay with the Reds.
Serie A giants Juventus are also interested in the hitman, while Arsenal and Everton are also monitoring the situation.
Arsene Wenger is desperate to rope in reinforcements for his striking options up front in the summer which would enable Arsenal to fight for silverware next season. The former Economics Professor is known for his familiarity to bring in French young talents to London and Lacazette, who has a contract with contract with Lyon until 2016, wouldn’t be an exception to the rule.
Here are a few quotes from the player himself:
Would I like to play for Juventus? I’d be a liar if I said no, and I’m to experience abroad at a big club and Juve are one of the greatest clubs in Europe.
Are Arsenal and Liverpool interested in me? I would love a challenge in a different championship abroad but for now I just think of doing well for Lyon, the club where I have grown up.
Lyon President Jean Michel Aulas however seemed confident of warding off interests from foreign clubs saying “Lacazette will be with us again without a problem next year.”
