According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport journalist, Emanuele Giuianelli, Arsenal are interested in signing Inter Milan striker, Mauro Icardi. Inter Milan have refused to sell the Argentine.
The Italian journalist tweeted out that after losing out on Karim Benzema, who has been a long term target for Arsene Wenger, the Londoners showed a keen interest in Icardi.
Inter Milan are however determined to hold on to their best striker and have knocked back Arsenal’s offer.

Arsenal’s need for a striker is no secret. The Gunners have struggled in front of goal since the start of the season and are keen to address their deficiencies. The likes of Giroud and Walcott have failed to provide a cutting edge upfront and cannot be relied upon if Arsenal are to challenge for the title. The Italian journalist also confirmed that Wenger is set to meet with his transfer staff today to chalk out their plans before deadline day.

It remains to be seen if Wenger can sign a goalscorer before the window closes. However, with the lack of quality solutions in the market, Arsenal might have to wait until January or even next summer.
