Reports from Football Italia claim that Gonzalo Higuain has asked Napoli to consider offers for him from Arsenal and Atletico Madrid. A couple of days ago the trusted and reliable Gianluca Di Marzio website reported that Higuain’s brother Nicolas who is also his agent is due to meet with President Aurelio De Laurentiis to discuss about the striker’s future at the club.
Higuain has been in stunning form this season despite some poor performances recently, having scored 27 goals in 57 appearances this season, also providing 11 assists. The report claims that the Argentine striker has a €60m price tag but should any offers not suit Napoli, Higuain won’t be pushing for a move.
However, the matter could change quickly as manager Rafa Benitez is set to leave the club to take over at Real Madrid. This could see some important players leave the club. Napoli have called a Press conference on Thursday afternoon where the club will announce Benitez’s departure.
Higuain will be a fantastic signing for Arsenal given they are willing to splash the cash for the player who will certainly be an upgrade over Olivier Giroud and could help the London club mount a significant Premier League Title challenge.
