Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski has completed a six months loan deal to Inter Milan in the January transfer window.
The Serie A outfit confirmed the arrival of the Germany’s World Cup winning player on their official twitter account. Inter tweeted saying: “22:05: here’s @Podolski10 shortly after landing in Milan #FCIM.”
The Germany international was frustrated with the lack of first team appearances and has now expressed his delight after he sealed a switch to San Siro/
“I am very happy [to be joining Inter]. I expect so much from this adventure. I know the Italian league very well. We are aiming to qualify for the Champions League and to win in the Europa League. I have spoken with Roberto Mancini, I think he is a great coach,” Podolski explained.
Meanwhile, the former Manchester City manager, who recently returned to Inter admitted that he has been closely monitoring Podolski while he was at Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
“I know him quite well as a player, I followed him at Arsenal and at Bayern before,” Mancini said in a Q & A on Twitter.
“He’s a strong player, natually left-sided. He would be a great reinforcement. “I spent four fantastic years at Inter. Coming back is a challenge – a difficult one, but exciting. Juve-Inter is a classic. Juve are first and have won the last three league titles, but anything can happen.
“We’ll do the impossible to get Inter back to where they deserve to be. I hope we can do it. The guys have always been outstanding in training and that gives me hope for the remainder of the championship,” Inter manager concluded.
