According to reports in the Spanish media, fichajes.net, Arsenal forward Joel Campbell is on his way to Italy, with both Milan clubs interested in the Costa Rica man.
However, it is believed that the Rossoneri are leading the chase for the former Olympiakos forward and have already spoken to Arsenal during the summer transfer window. Despite deciding against selling Campbell back then, Wenger is thought to be keen on letting him go, following the arrival and impressive form of Danny Welbeck.
The former Manchester United striker has settled in with ease and has successfully replaced the injured, Olivier Giroud. Also the scintillating form of Alexis Sanchez has limited Campbell’s first team chances to a couple of substitute appearances.
Recently in a press conference, Arsene Wenger stated that he ‘loves’ Campbell and would be more than happy to keep him at the club. However, he also mentioned that a loan move in January is something that has been spoken about.
AC Milan are rumoured to be keen on adding to their frontline with another forward from London, having already signed Chelsea striker Fernando Torres on loan earlier this season.
The future at Arsenal looks bleak for Joel Campbell and with the imminent return of Theo Walcott, it can only get worse. A loan move to Milan might just be the best option for the Costa Rican, who is looking to resurrect his career with regular first team football.
