Arsenal would be looking to increase their German contingent in the squad, as manager Arsene Wenger is keen to land the highly rated Borussia Monchengladbach winger Patrick Herrmann.
Wenger has been keeping a close tab on the development of the 22-year-old who has represented Germany at the European Under-21 Championships in June. Following his impressive performances, he has been called up for the senior international side, but has yet to make his debut.
According to reports from talkSPORT, the youngster would cost in the region of £13m and has a contract till 2016. Italian clubs Napoli and Juventus are thought to be interested in him and are equally monitoring his progress.
Meanwhile, the Gunners are also interested in Lazio’s outstanding Brazilian midfielder Hernanes, who is unlikely to renew his contract with the Roman club.
Hernanes joined the Italian club for €11m from Sao Paolo and has scored 32 goals in 107 Serie A appearances. It is understood that the Roman club are failing to convince him to sign an extension to his contract which expires in the summer of 2015.
Although an offer from PSG was rejected in the summer, the 28-year-old could fancy a move elsewhere and Arsenal are set to be weighing up an offer.
To end up the Morning Round-Up, the Gunners are also interested in Liverpool target Jorginho and are looking to make a formal move in the January Transfer window for the Hellas Verona midfielder.
The 21-year-old, who was heavily linked with a move to the Merseyside giants, will be available in the region of £10m. Italian clubs Fiorentina and Juventus are also interested for the Italy U21 international’s signature.
