Arsene Wenger has revealed his plans to stay at Arsenal beyond the summer, despite constant speculation linking him with a move away from the Emirates, and specifically with the Monaco job.
The veteran boss told French TV station ‘beIN Sports’ that he intends to stay in North London beyond the current campaign, and that all talk of him leaving the club in the summer is repetitive nonsense,
“Look, I have said that many times already, I have given my word to this club and that I want to continue where I am.
“That means to stay.”
English papers last night claimed that Ligue 1 side Monaco are preparing a £13m deal to lure Wenger back to France, but his staunch words of loyalty and commitment to the Arsenal cause will surely end all talk of him departing the club.
The Gunners have struggled in the latter part of this Premier League season, dropping out of the race for the title after some disastrous results against the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool, and are now in a straight scrap with Everton for fourth place.
The aforementioned results against their bitter rivals saw many Arsenal fans calling for Wenger’s head, but with an FA Cup final against Hull to come, the unhappy fans may change their tune if the Frenchman secures the club’s fist silverware since 2005, as well as beating Everton to the last Champions League spot.
What do you think, Arsenal fans? Are you happy that Wenger is staying at the club?
