The abundance of young talent in Portugal in the past few years has led to many European clubs to pursue their interest in the country. According to reports from Spanish Media outlet Fichajes, Arsenal have their eyes set on Portuguese defender Cedric Soares. The 23 year old has impressed with his performances this season and has attracted envious glances of European heavyweights including Inter Milan, and German giants Schalke and Borussia Dortmund.
Arsenal’s need to improve their defense in the upcoming January transfer window is well documented. With a lot of injury problems manager Arsene Wenger had earlier claimed that he needs to address his backline in the upcoming winter transfer window. Soares primarily plays as a right back and would provide healthy competition to Frenchman Mathieu Debuchy when the latter returns from injury.
The Gunners though will face serious competition with Inter, the Nerazzurri having a keen interest in the player. The San Siro outfit are desperate to improve their defense in the winter transfer window.
