Football season has barely started, it’s not even half way in all the major leagues across Europe, and still transfer rumours are dominating the back pages across major / minor media publications. Dude, it’s just October! Give us a break!
Ok, let me run this story. It is both ‘shock’ and ‘funny’, and I want a big ROFL in the comment box:
Barcelona are just few months away from their transfer ban being lifted. The club indeed is in dire need to add quality players to improve their squad depth, and one can expect them to delve heavily in the January transfer market.
Catalan press are trying their best to do the preliminary scouting jobs for Barcelona, linking top players – Pogba, Coutinho et al – with the club.
According to Mundo Deportivo (relayed by Le 10 Sport), one of the major newspapers in Spain, Barcelona were reportedly interested in signing French wonder kid Anthony Martial, who joined Manchester United in the summer for a reported fee of £36m, a deal that could potentially rise to £55m or even more.
Fair enough. But Mundo also adds that Barcelona still fancy their chances of signing the 19-year-old kid, and has included him in their wish list for next summer.
Martial has made a bright impression in England already and has scored four goals for the Red Devils. He has shown great maturity and flashes of brilliance already, earning plaudits from the ever critical British press.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has admitted that Martial is the one for the future. Martial has already made his international debut for France, and many consider him to reach the levels of France legend Thierry Henry.
Barcelona or any other club simply have no chance of signing Martial anytime in near future. It is simply ludicrous to include him in the transfer wish-list, especially when you know it will never going to materialise.
