Arsenal and Liverpool target Andre Pierre Gignac will not be leaving Marseille in the upcoming January transfer window. The 28 year old has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the winter with Newcastle United also interested in the in form striker. Gignac has been in superb form this season having scored 11 goals from 14 appearances.

Italian side Inter Milan are also interested in the player but Gignac has played down claims that he is looking for a new club at least in the winter transfer window. Italian media outlet Football Italia have quoted Giagnac citing his claims to FC Inter News, “My priority is still Marseille and its President, as I always said, and this won’t be changing now. I told the Italian journalists that everything depends on the conditions which will determine whether I’ll renew my contract or no.”

Gignac had however said in an interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport that Inter Milan is ‘an institution’ and a possible move there ‘a nice prospect’. This clearly suggests that Gignac has had a change of heart very quickly that too in an overnight. Or it might also signify that he could leave Marseille in the summer rather tan move in January.

Premier league side Newcastle United who have a host of French players are also interested but they are sure to face competition should Gignac make up his mind to leave the French shores in the summer.
