Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy is reportedly desperate to join Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
According to The Telegraph, Remy is attracting interest from both North London club, Arsenal and Tottenham. The striker is not keen to join the White Hart Lane outfit and wants to sign for Arsene Wenger’s side.
The Premier League star has targeted to feature in the Champions League and a move to the Emirates will help him fulfil his European ambition at a club level. Remy has a £10m release clause in his contract.
The French international spent the last season on loan at Newcastle United as his primary club featured in the Championship. During his time at Tyneside club, the 27-year-old has been in fine form for Alan Pardew’s side.
Meanwhile, Remy wants to use the World Cup in Brazil to use as a platform to attract potential suitors.
“The World Cup is a way of putting myself on display. Newcastle want to hire me but I don’t know if I will stay there,” Remy said.
“This has been a turning point in my career, a year of transition. Since the turn of the year everything has been okay and when I am fully fit I believe I can hurt opponents.”
“During the World Cup I could be a good surprise. At every World Cup and Euro there are players that you don’t expect who really impress,” he added.
Remy wants Wenger to contact the newly promoted Premier League club in order to seal a transfer this summer. The Gunners manager has his compatriot Olivier Giroud as the first choice strike, with Yaya Sanogo as his deputy in the attacking division.
The North London club need to sign a quality striker and Remy has already proved his worth in the Premier League after shining for Newcastle. A move for the French international in the summer transfer window will turn out to be a bargain.
