According to Tuttomercatoweb, Liverpool and Arsenal have been tracking the Argentine forward, Luciano Vietto from Villarreal.
The Reds are believed to be keen on signing a striker this January and Vietto’s recent form has alerted a lot of his potential suitors. Having scored 8 goals so far, Vietto has been one of the hottest young prospects of La Liga. Liverpool have struggled without a recognised striker this season and Brendan Rodgers is believed to be looking for a forward, matching Vietto’s skillset.
Injury to Daniel Sturridge and the poor form of Mario Balotelli has forced the former Swansea manager to use youngster Raheem Sterling as a makeshift striker, but the England man has failed to replicate the sharpness of Sturridge and former striker Luis Suarez in front of the goal.
Meanwhile, recent reports state that Arsenal have also joined Liverpool in the hunt for Vietto. It is understood that Villarreal are reluctant to part with their prized asset this season, however, the involvement of two Premier League heavyweights could spark a bidding war, which could very well tempt the El Submarino Amarillo.
