This is huge news for Arsenal fans. Reports from Spanish daily MARCA this morning claim that Gunners target and World Cup Winner Sami Khedira is being forced out of Real Madrid.

Khedira

Khedira was left out of the squad by manager Carlo Ancelotti at Cardiff for Real Madrid’s UEFA Super Cup tie against Sevilla which the Galacticos won by 2-0 thanks to a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Khedira has a contract with Madrid till next summer and the German has refused to sign a contract extension at the Spanish capital. It is believed that Real aren’t willing to give heed to Khedira’s wage demands after the 27 year old cited his impressive World Cup campaign to the Bernabeu outfit.

The Champions league winners are thus waiting for offers for the midfielder. Arsenal have been very much interested in the Tunisian born German and the Gunners would jump at this opportunity to sign the player before Chelsea makes any such deal difficult at the last moment.

We had reported earlier that Jose Mourinho had earlier called Khedira to join him at Stamford Bridge. The Portuguese had also suggested the player to run down his contract and join Chelsea next summer on a free transfer but Real would surely won’t let that allow to happen.

Khedira’s exit from Bernabeu looks like a possibility as he risks losing his place in the German national side if he isn’t playing at club level. With Toni Kroos now being the lynch pin beside Luka Modric in the double pivot in midfield, Khedira’s days could be numbered at Madrid.
