Writing transfer related articles after any transfer window is damn boring. There is hardly any iota of truth in rumours and it is futile to speculate on someone’s future. Thereby, I have decided to keep this story as short as possible.
According to reports from Calciomercato, Manchester United scouts were present recently to watch Inter Milan’s forward Mauro Icardi. The Argentine striker is also a reported target of Chelsea, who are thought to be in a pole position to sign him next summer.
Towards the end of the January transfer window, reports emerged that Chelsea are already plotting a move for Icardi, who has scored 15 goals this season. We reported:
We have reports from Italy, via Gianluca di Marzio that Chelsea will look to scout the Italian market again next summer, as they have set their sight on Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi.
The Argentine striker will not make the move in January, but Inter have failed in their attempt to persuade him to sign a new contract, which mean he could leave the club next summer.
Inter are also preparing life without Icardi, as the Nerazzurri are looking for other options, with Marseille’s Gignac remains their top priority next summer.
Manchester United have also joined the race it seems, as sending scouts to watch a player certainly reveals there is some kind of interest. Icardi has a market value of €35m and has a contract till June 2016.
